Isha Dey spoke in her article for ASBMB Today with three science illustrators about their career paths. One of them, Dr. Radhika Patnala told her story of becoming a scientific illustrator.
She describes her childhood in an artistic household and explains why she decided to become a scientist and later fuse her creative skills and scientific knowledge into a career.
‘The world of art and design was quite prevalent in my household as I was growing up," Patnala said, "so I developed an interest in fine arts, design concepts and design software from a very young age, even before I was exposed to the wonderful world of science and biology.’
